12月17日晚，从励耘楼B210教室里传来悠悠的歌唱诗声“黄河远上白云间，一片孤城万仞山，羌笛何须怨杨柳，春风不度玉门关。”这是国内知名学者，北京师范大学博士生导师周流溪教授应邀前来我院作题为“古典诗文的口头表现形式”的讲座。讲座吸引了大批外国语学院的师生和其他院系的学生前来听讲。

周流溪教授秉着承前启后、继往开来的精神，旁征博引，横贯古今，讲座生动精彩。周流溪教授指出，诗歌、散文和口语都有韵律，三者的区别在于诗歌比散文的节律优美、严格，散文比口语的节律更严密、讲究。这三者的共同点在于它们都是自然存在的。接着，周教授从低端到高端的角度，为现场师生展示了六种口头形式，即：念读、朗诵、赋诵、吟诵、咏唱、歌唱。他着重介绍了吟诵和咏歌两种形式。然后，周教授还分别从唐诗的读与唱、近体诗格律的关键、如何利用唐诗资源学习语言、学语言学如何关心唐诗的继承问题等方面讲述了唐诗里的语言问题。周教授说要读懂古诗首先应该以一种“同情式的理解”去考虑诗歌的创作境况，再反复吟诵，体会诗人的情感。他还现场即兴为大家吟诵了《易水歌》、王之焕的《凉州词》和一些唐代名家的作品。他精确的韵律把握和声情并茂的吟诵赢得了在场师生的热烈掌声。

他还向师生讲述了汉语音韵学的发展历程。通过查阅大量的文献和研究，他认为平仄律句(pitch-syllabic verses)的唐韵诗歌是由印度佛教结合中国的情况发展而来的。

此外，作为一名资深学者，周教授教导青年一代既要有历史使命感，继承中国的传统文化，又要有国际眼光，以世界公民的姿态面对国际形势。他认为，学外语就要下苦功夫。学习外语是苦海无边，汉语是汪洋大海，因此要活到老，学到老，永不停步。他慷慨激昂地说道：“超越自己，留一份热，多一份光，学到老，活到老！”

最后，院长陶文好教授对此次讲座做了总结。他称周流溪教授文史哲贯通古今、横跨中西，尤其其独特风格的咏唱为我们打开了一扇别样的知识窗户。他希望同学们明白处处留心皆学问的道理，以后能够从自己的导师身上学到做学问的方法和气概。

An Academic Lecture: The Oral Presentation of Classic Verse and Prose

The School of Foreign Languages held a lecture entitled The Oral Presentation of Classic Verse and Prose in Liyun B210 at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. The lecture was given by Zhou Liuxi, professor and doctoral supervisor from the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Beijing Normal University.

In the lecture, Professor Zhou pointed out that all languages, including tone languages and non-tone languages, have their prosodic features and the metrical patterns in the classical works of Chinese verse and prose are the manifestation of the prosodic features of the Chinese language. He then introduced the 6 forms of oral presentation of classical verse and prose, i.e., plain reading, reciting, cadenced chanting, intone chanting, incanting, and singing by note. He particularly expounded on the two general ways of chanting and singing, stressing that to chant or sing a poem well, we should understand the background and artistic conception of the poem. In his illustrations, he sang some poems such as Yishui-ge and Suwu Muyang, which exerted great fascination on the audience.

As a seasoned and conscientious scholar, he appealed to the young students present that they should have a global vision and shoulder the historical mission of carrying on traditional Chinese culture.
