A Lecture: What''s a Vegan and Other Food Considerations?

On May 23rd , Ms. Rebecca Brinson Reel, a foreign teacher from America gave an impressive lecture about Vegan and Other Food Considerations.

First of all, Rebecca explained to students that a vegan was a person who did not eat or use any animal products. She listed some reasons why a person chose to be a vegan and said that she was a vegan for health needs. In a way, the vegan and plant-based diet were the same. She shared some researches with students, which showed that eating plant-based, dieting without animal fat is an effective way to protect people from illness. Through a number of food pictures, Rebecca showed that plant-based food could be various and delicious. Vegan cooking had a formula, and every meal included a grain, a vegetable, a bean and seasoning.

In fact, being a vegan was not easy because many people thought a piece of meat or a little animal fat in food was not a big deal. But the truth was it might cause vegans’ illness. Rebecca added that if you were lucky enough to eat anything, remember to be grateful and thankful.

At the end of the lecture, Rebecca hoped everyone could respect and help people who have special need in diet.
