外国语学院2017届毕业论文答辩圆满结束

        5月6日下午2点30分,外院2017届毕业生论文答辩在励耘楼准时开始。答辩在不同的教室进行,分为8个英语答辩小组和2个日语答辩小组。

        答辩过程分为三步。首先,毕业生对自己的毕业论文进行说明,包括说明选择论文主题的理由、阐述论文的内容与结构、对论文内容的调查研究等。其次,导师对毕业生的论文内容进行提问,毕业生进行答辩。最后,答辩小组商讨、评定成绩。

        答辩过程中毕业生对论文深刻的见解和精锐的分析使得同场毕业生也纷纷鼓掌。一些学长学姐的论文有些不足,但他们认真对待论文的态度也值得学弟学妹们学习。

       答辩结束后,记者们对一些毕业生进行采访,他们中的大多数人对此次答辩很满意,表示这些天的努力没有白费。学长学姐们也为还未毕业的学生们提出几点建议:一、尽早确定论题;二、遇到疑惑主动与导师沟通;三、保持沉着冷静。

        此次毕业论文答辩考察了学生对论文的剖析深度,也锻炼了学生的随机应变能力。

 

 

 

 

 

School of Foreign Languages Held Thesis Oral Defense for Undergraduates of 2017

         On May 6th, the thesis oral defense for the undergraduates of 2017 from the School of Foreign Languages was held in Liyun Building. Eight oral defense teams of English majors and two of Japanese majors were scattered in different classrooms.

         The oral defense involved three parts. Firstly, Students mainly stated reasons for choosing the topics, analyzed the structure of the theses and presented their research and findings on them. Then the tutors asked pertinent questions regarding the details of the content and presentation. Finally, the tutors evaluated and graded students’ performance.

         In the process of the oral defense, several undergraduates had their own perspectives towards their presentation, which made other undergraduates fully agreed with. Although there still existed some problems in the theses of some undergraduates, their attitudes were still worthy of being learned.

         After the oral defense, several undergraduates were randomly interviewed. Some were satisfied with their own performance, while others said they had been too nervous to do themselves justice. Meanwhile, the interviewees gave some tips to the students of lower grades, including spending a longer time preparing the thesis, communicating actively with tutors and keeping calm during the whole oral defense.

         The thesis oral defense examined the undergraduates’ mastery of what they had learned at college and their ability to apply their knowledge into practice.
