2018年5月11日晚7:30，外国语学院于乐育楼B107举办2017-2018学年第2学期第三场科研月沙龙。此次科研月沙龙活动由外国语学院院长、党总支书记陶文好教授主持，特邀西安外国语大学周世范教授担任嘉宾，参加人员包括外国语学院教师、教辅人员共20余人。窗体底端
周世范教授首先与大家分享了自己对科研与教学的看法，提出了宝贵的建议。在科研方面，周教授指出，老师们要潜心钻研，不要急功近利；要重点突破，不要面面俱到；要精益求精，不要粗制滥造；在教学方面，周教授建议大家要像热爱生命一样，热爱自己的职业；不把教书当成自己的饭碗，而是看成一项伟大事业。
在互动环节中，周教授风趣幽默、妙语连珠，一一解答了老师们在科研和教学方面的疑问与困惑，现场氛围热烈而温馨。
SFL Holds 3rd Monthly Salon for Academic Research
At 7:30 p.m.on May 11th, 2018, the School of Foreign Languages held the third salon for academic research of this semester in Room B107 of Leyu Building. The salon was hosted by Professor Tao Wenhao, Dean and Party Secretary of the SFL, and attended by more than 20 staff members. Professor Zhou Shifan, a renowned scholar from Xi’an International Studies University, was present at the salon as the distinguished guest.
Professor Zhou first shared with the salon participants his perspectives to research and teaching, giving quite a number of valuable tips. In terms of research, Professor Zhou suggested that teachers should stay focused, prioritize, and strive for perfection, rather than be too anxious to achieve quick success, attempt to grasp all, or turn out anything indelicate. With regard to teaching, Professor Zhou called on the teachers present to regard their teaching jobs as a great cause and love it as they love their own lives.
In the discussion session, Professor Zhou answered the participants’ questions concerning research and teaching, with humorous and witty remarks. It was a practical, inspiring salon.
