外国语学院2018级新生开学典礼于9月6日上午9:00在励耘楼B408隆重举行。党总支书记、院长陶文好教授、副院长谢庆立副教授、副院长谢文婷副教授、副书记王燕等院系领导、二十多名中外籍教师以及全体2018级本科新生和32名英语教育硕士研究生，出席了典礼。
首先，院长陶文好教授代表学院，向2018级新生表示热烈欢迎。为了让新生对学院有进一步的了解，他介绍了外国语学院的整体情况，开放、自由、资源丰富的学习环境和氛围，将助力新生最大程度发掘自己的潜力。同时，他还给新生提出了两点建议：尊重自己的时间、热爱阅读，以激励同学们在新的人生路程上，获得最大的收获。
英语系主任、副教授崔艳丽老师代表教师发言。她强调，大学开启了同学们的人生新篇章，大家须充满热情，以对自己负责的态度，把握好宝贵的学习机会。外籍教师David W Koenig则表示，大家在充分利用时间学习的同时，还应相互帮助，相互关心，营造外院大家庭的温暖氛围。
在校生代表张瑞珊、黄敏仪、麦芷芊分别用日语、法语、葡萄牙语发言。作为学姐，她们用自己的亲身体会，为新生们提出了宝贵的意见：多结识新朋友，勇敢面对困难，制定明确的目标，尽可能挖掘自身潜力......这些宝贵意见，对学弟学妹们的大学生活具有重要指导意义。
2018级研究生罗芳梅、本科生邓咏思一一发言。她们表达了成为一名外院人的激动与兴奋。表示将会把校训及院训内化于心、外化于行，同时坚定理想信念，积极探索，勤奋学习，为梦想而奋斗。
最后，典礼播放了由院学生会精心制作的学院介绍及校园生活视频。在温馨愉快的氛围中，外国语学院2018级新生开学典礼圆满结束。
The Opening Ceremony of 2018 Held Successfully
In the morning of September 6, the School of Foreign Languages held successfully the opening ceremony for the freshmen of 2018 in room B408 of Liyun Building. Dean and Professor Tao Wenhao, Vice Dean and Associate Professor Xie Qingli, Vice Dean and Associate Professor Xie Wenting, Deputy Secretary of General Party Branch of SFL, along with more than 20 Chinese and foreign teachers, the freshmen of 2018 of the School as well as 32 postgraduate students attended the ceremony.
Firstly, Dean Tao Wenhao delivered a speech. He extended his warmest welcome to all freshmen. To help the students have more knowledge of SFL, he introduced the recent development of the School. An open and resourceful learning environment which makes our language programs and courses more diverse and rewarding will enable students to explore their potentials mostly. He also offered students two suggestions: respecting our time and embracing the fun of reading to achieve success in the new journey of life.
Associate Professor Cui Yanli,Director of English Department and Mr. David Koenig, representatives of staff members of the School, warmly welcomed the new students. Ms Cui Yanli emphasized that today was a special occasion for the freshmen. It was the commencement of a new page. She expected that students would have a passion for the new life, be responsible and take the good opportunity to study. And Mr. David Koenig said students should also help each other, and care about each other, creating a happy and harmonious home-like atmosphere in SFL.
Junior student Zhang Ruishan and Huang Minyi, and senior student Mai Zhiqian delivered speeches separately in Japanese, French and Portuguese. They offered many personal experiences of learning and useful suggestions to all freshmen, which would be of great importance for the freshmen.
Graduate student of 2018 Luo Fangmei and undergraduate student Deng Yongsi also shared their feelings and opinions as freshmen. They expressed their excitement for being a member of the School, and would firmly keep the motto of both our university and our School in mind. They also believed that if we actively to explore，we would find our own treasures.
With a welcome video presented by the Student Union which inspired the freshmen to expect their new life in BNUZ, the opening ceremony for the freshmen of 2018 came to a happy ending.
