（记者 颜成宇）2018年11月14日，由外教Brad Quinn主持的以“Money, Meaning, Fear, Greed, and Guilt: Saving For Your Possible Retirement”为题目的讲座于丽泽楼C104成功举办。
Brad首先做了一个简短的自我介绍并且询问在场学生关于退休年龄的问题，接着举了巴菲特虽年迈却坚持学习、阅读的习惯的例子，以此来引出此次讲座的主题-人们的存钱习惯以及如何克服为了存够退休金所带来的恐惧。
当Brad提到关于养老金的问题，他给在场听众展示了美国当今社会养老金的运行现状。他提到：美国社会现在面临着万亿美元养老金的缺口，每三个美国人中就有一个人不为自己的养老而存钱。与此同时，他还给听众们列举了人们没能够存储足够养老金的原因，在场学生若有所思地听着他的分析。
最后，他给出了克服恐惧的方法-在人生的每个不同时间段都应该存进一定比例的工资收入作为退休储蓄。
Brad的演讲风格风趣幽默，期间他不仅用简单的漫画向在场学生解释一些较难懂的概念，还邀请同学上台用电脑软件亲自体验存储退休金预算，使主题通俗易懂，在场学生们纷纷对Brad提出的关于为退休存钱的观点表示赞同。
The speech given by Mr. Brad Quinn was held successfully on Nov 14th, 2018 in C104 of Lize Building, which was oriented around the topic Money, Meaning, Fear, Greed, And Guilt: Saving For Your Possible Retirement.
First of all, Brad made a self-introduction and asked the students present a question about the appropriate age for retirement. And then he got to the point about the savings habits of people and what could be done to overcome the daunting challenges of preparing for retirement with an example of Buffett’s insistence on studying and reading despite the old age.
Brad demonstrated the current condition in America by a series of statistics when he reached the issue about pension. He mentioned that U.S. society is now facing a muti-trillion-dollar shortfall in pension and one in three Americans save nothing for their retirement. Meanwhile, he also enumerated the reasons why those people failed to save enough pension for themselves. The listeners off stage listened thoughtfully to his analysis.
In the end, Brad gave students the answer about how to overcome the fear followed by saving pensions for retirement. He suggested that people should save some money in proportion to the bank as the retirement savings at every period of life.
Brad is a witty and humorous foreign teacher who not only used some simple comedies to explain some complicated concepts to students but also invited some students to experience saving for their retirement by using a software for calculation on the Internet, making the topic more straightaway. The students present all agreed to his opinion about the retirement savings.
