The English Corner was held in the Library lobby at 6 p.m. on May 13th. Mr. Martin Stannard, Ms. Dulene Cipiriano, Mr. Jeremy Jenkin attended it.
Martin was the first teacher to arrive at the library. After a while, students came and sat around him. Some careful students found that Martin had a tattoo on one of his hands. Martin explained that it was very meaningful to have a tattoo about his Chinese name. Martin told us that he had been in China for about ten years. He was a person who liked changes in life, so ten years were a long time for him. An important reason why he had not left China was that he liked the weather in China. When he became old, he would like to go back to his hometown, and reunite with his children.
Dulene was talking about the freshmen. Some students complained about the pressure. They had too many campus activities, and less time to have a rest, feeling more tired than in senior high school. Dulene suggested that students should take part in one of the activities which they liked best. Most importantly, students need to learn some social experience. It’s good to study hard, but don’t make yourself be stiff.
Jeremy shared his experience in New York and Tai Wan. When the students asked him how to improve listening ability, he smiled and said it was a good choice to watch more English videos.
Through today’s activity, it can be known that life can be colorful if you are the master of your own life.
