At 4：30 on September 14, the SFL held the first meeting between tutors and MA students. Present at the meeting were Professor Tao Wenhao, Professor Wang Xiaoling, Associate Pofessor He Zhongsen, Associate Professor Li Fusheng, Associate Professor Lv Hong bo, Associate Professor Zhan Huichun, Associate Professor Xie Qingli, Associate Professor Xie Wenting, and the 23 MA students of English Teaching.

The meeting was divided into three sections. In the first section, Dean Tao Wenhao introduced the overall history and development of BNUZ and the School of Foreign Languages. He first advocated that all the MA students bowed to the tutors; he vividly compared tutors to parents and hoped that the MA students would keep a close touch with their tutor during their 2 years of studies and after their graduation. Dean Tao summed up three nice impacts this university might exert, i.e., the cultural atmosphere of the campus, the beauty of the campus and the largeness of the campus. Then Dean Tao emphasized the motto of BNU in English, " Of studies, be the master; of behavior, be the model ". Finally, he briefly introduced the achievements the SFL has made in the past 9 years and encouraged the MA students to look ahead and accomplish their dreams step by step.

In the second section, Mr. Xie Qingli introduced the curriculum of the MA program and emphasized some vital school regulations.

The last section was a communication in English between tutors and students. The MA students introduced themselves, expressed their excitement in coming to this beautiful campus, and asked the tutors questions concerning their future plans.
