On November 12th, the principle, together with the students and parents representatives from Hong Kong Tsung Tsin Secondary School visited our campus, and School of Foreign Languages greeted them.
In the morning, Professor Tao Wenhao, Dean of SFL, hosted a mini lecture to introduce SFL and the International Program with Griffith University briefly. Associate Professor Xie Wenting, Vice Dean of SFL, and Miss Tan Yuanxin, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of SFL, arranged a campus tour for all the guests from Tsung Tsin Secondary School.
At 2 p.m. the campus tour began. The student assistants from SFL introduced the teaching buildings, the library, Lize Lake etc. in Cantonese to the visitors. At the same time, the assistants also told some interesting stories about the campus which attracted great interests from the visitors.
During the campus tour, they looked around the stores and shops in the dormitory area. Then they visited a boys'' dormitory in Haihua No.6 building and also the classrooms on the first floor of Lize teaching building, which showed a vivid picture of studying and living environment in BNUZ. What’s more, the visitors happened to enjoy the activities held by the Youth Volunteers Association, which gave them a deep impression of the culture of BNUZ. In addition, they also went to the playground and indoor stadium to experience the extracurricular life of students. Afterward, they visited the new Liyun Street in Liyun teaching building.
Finally, led by Dean Tao, all the visitors from Hong Kong Tsung Tsin Secondary School and student assistants from SFL took photos together in front of the Confucius Statue, making a wonderful end of this trip. Before leaving, the principle of Hong Kong Tsung Tsin Secondary School thanked SFL for the gracious invitation and generous reception. Dean Tao, representing all the staff of School of Foreign Languages, also expressed the strong wish of inviting more students from Hong Kong to BNUZ in the future.
Hong Kong Tsung Tsin Secondary School is one of the educational practice bases of SFL. This trip provides a good opportunity for both sides to better understand each other, which also paves the way for the cooperation in the future.
