The opening ceremony for the first Foreign Languages & Culture Festival of the Faculty of Foreign Languages was held on May 6, 2011. The British Culture was the theme of the ceremony. Ms. Wu Wenxia, the Vice Director of the English Department of FFL, delivered the opening address. Ms. Yin Xiaolei，the secretary of the youth league committee，and Mr. Lin Zijian attended the opening ceremony.

After the Opening dance, the first Foreign Languages & Culture Festival exhibition park opened to visitors. This park was divided into six zones. Pictures were hanging on the strings like a wall to exhibit the basic knowledge and historical events of the U.K., the festivals, pub culture, scenic spots, the famous universities and the royal family. Of all the above pictures, the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton is the most popular. Besides, the tour guides provided visitors with information and tips on how to apply for postgraduate programs of the British universities.
