On the evening of November 16th, the English corner was held in the libraryas usual. Dr. Aviva Shimelman and Dr. Matthew Conduct attended the English Corner.
Dr. Matthew Conduct talked about sports with the students. He said his favorite sport was basketball, and he often played basketball to build up his body. Besides, a student sharedhis favorite sport baseball with others. Baseball, which originated in Britain, spread across the country in the14th or 15th century, and it became popular in America in the 18th or 19th century. Nowadays, baseballis widely welcomed as an effective exercise.
Katherine, an exchange student from thePhilippines, also came to the English corner. Her Chinese name is Cai Lin. She told the students that she had been in Hong Kong for 6 years and she enjoyed her life there. When it comes to her daily life, she said that she liked watchingTV series, which was a good way to know more about foreign cultures.
Time flies. The English corner cameto an end soon. All the students were looking forward to the next gathering.
