On the evening of November 23rd, the English Corner took place as usual. Foreign teachers such as Mr. Rob Mateja, Ms. CL Williams and Mr Michael Fisher were present.
Mr Rob Mateja talked with students about the recentU.S. presidential election. Rob said that he supportedHilary Clinton though she failed the election. He thought whoever was electedwas hoping totry their best to make a contribution to the United States.
Ms. CL Williams told the students that they had better not have physical contact with foreigners during conversations at the beginning. Then, she expressed her opinions on the differences of universities between northern and southern part of China. She thought that universities in the northern part of Chinaare more devoted to academics, while the commercial atmosphere of universities in the southern part of China is more intense .
On the other side, Mr Michael Fisher talked about the climate differences in Canada and Australia. He said that Canada has more rainfall than Australia. What’s more, Canada is colder than Australia and he also said he was glad to have the chance to experience quick weather changes of China even within the university.
The English corner ended in laughter.
