On October 15, 2017, Preliminary Contest of School of Foreign Languages for “Universal Gravitation” Music Festival was successfully held in D202 of Lize Building. Over twenty students from School of Foreign Languages competed and presented an audio-visual feast for the audience, providing a stage for versatile students to show their talents, youths and vitalities and helping them to know more about foreign cultures, to improve their speaking competence and to enrich their school lives.
The participants of the contest were all from School of Foreign Languages and were divided into the talents group or the singing group voluntarily. For students of singing group, they were required to choose foreign songs, including English,Japanese, French or Portuguese. Competitors performed with diverse styles on the spot. Some sang with guitars while some danced as they sang. They brought an audio-visual feast by expressing their feelings with their unique voices and talents and aroused great applauses over and over again. What’s more, the defending champion gave an excellent rap show as a special guest. Finally, the two freshmen of 2017, Li Zelin and Zhang Ziyi who were from Class 3 and Class 4 respectively won the contest, both of whom would be qualified for the final as representatives of School of Foreign Languages.
"A nation will prosper only when its young people thrive."In this competition, students were encouraged to learn foreign languages with colorful forms. The Music Festival was not only a good stage for students to show their talents, but also an opportunity for them not to be addicted to the mobile phones, go out of the dormitory and to actively participate in all kinds of activities, enriching their school lives and growth.
