The city of Zhuhai greatly suffered from the severe Typhoon Hato on August.23 and there is no exception to our campus, with great numbers of trees down. It is strongly called on by the university that all staff members and students actively took part in the reconstruction work, such as clearing away the fallen signpost and leaves, cleaning the garbage and so on. Tao Wenghao, general secretary of General Branch of SFL suggested promptly all the teachers and students, especially the party members in SFL actively participate in the reconstruction of the campus.
Approximately at 8 o’clock in the morning on August 26, about 10 volunteers consist of on-the-job teachers from SFL, newly-employed foreign teachers and even relatives of the teachers came to the front square of the library, getting ready for making contributions to the reconstruction of the campus. After the tasks were given, everyone involved started the cleaning. Some were sweeping the floor while others were moving the branches and garbage bins. With the cooperation between each other, the working efficiency was largely increased. After more than three hours have passed, the work in the morning was finally completed by all the participants. Looking at the clean and fair road on campus, heartfelt smiles were on the tiresome but happy faces.
Since the launch of the reconstruction work, volunteers including on-the-job teachers, graduates, students staying at school during summer vacation, freshmen and students’ parents all took part in the work. Great amounts of gratitude goes to everyone that comes from BNUZ and all the volunteers who offer great aids. With our joint effort, it is believed that BNUZ will surely present its beauty as “the most beautiful Valley University in Asia” soon.
