12月2日周三晚，同学们相聚在图书馆一楼大厅，和外教分享有趣的故事和经历。今天出席英语角的外教是Dr. Thomas James Hughes和Mr. Brett Gearing。
Brett首先谈到了自己对穷人和富人的看法。他认为很多那些从生下来就能得到自己想要的任何东西的“富二代”，他们不懂得真正的世界是怎么样的，不懂得如何在生活中奋斗，因此他更欣赏努力奋斗着的穷人们。接着,Brett聊到了他曾经的工作，是在一个很大的商店负责每天把东西放回原位。甚至有时还要经常出差从加利福尼亚去宾夕法尼亚和弗吉尼亚（加利福尼亚位于美国西部，宾夕法尼亚与弗吉尼亚位于美国东部）。Brett告诉同学们，有些人因为工作做得好升级成为管理者，但他们却不一定适合领导别人。他就是因为不满意老板的管理方式所以辞掉了那份工作。
另一边的Thomas解答了同学们对于苏格兰与英格兰区别的疑惑，在传统服饰、口音、气候和食物上都会有所不同。苏格兰有独特的传统服饰——苏格兰短裙，并且苏格兰比英格兰有更多的山所以气候更冷。Thomas还提到如果同学们想学习正宗的英国口音，不妨多听听威廉王子的演讲。
在每周三的英语角，同学们既可以和外教们轻松聊天，又得到了更多练习口语和学习知识的机会。
English Corner: Working Experiences

On December 2nd, students came to the library to share interesting experiences and stories with foreign teachers. Dr. Thomas James Hughes and Mr. Brett Gearing attended the English corner.
Brett talked about his opinions on the rich and the poor. He thought that compared with the poor, some people who were born in rich families didn’t know how to strive for what they wanted in the world. Then Brett said he once worked in a big store and was responsible for putting the commodities back onto the shelves every day and he was often on his business trips from California to Pennsylvania or Virginia (California is located in the west of the USA while Pennsylvania and Virginia are located in the east). However, he wasn’t satisfied with the supervising mode of his boss, so he quitted this job. He told the students that someone became the boss because he could do his own job well, but it didn’t mean he could be a good boss.
Thomas answered the questions about the differences between Scotland and England, which mainly lied in the traditional costumes, accents, climate and the food. Scottish kilt was the representation of Scottish traditional costumes because there were more mountains in Scotland and thus Scotland was colder than England. He suggested the students listen to the speeches of Prince William if they wanted to learn the authentic British accent.
At the English Corner, students could practice English and learn more in their chat with foreign teachers.
