4月26日上午8点,外院2014届毕业生论文答辩在励耘楼准时开始。答辩分为13个小组在不同教室同时进行。
答辩过程分为三个环节。第一环节为论文说明汇报,毕业生大多介绍论文的选题背景,简述论文内容,也借此机会感谢导师在论文准备过程中所给予的帮助。第二环节为导师提问,导师们针对课题的目的、意义、调查结论以及立论的依据等方面提出问题,毕业生进行答辩。第三环节为答辩小组商讨、评定成绩。经过了论文开题、中期检查、最终论文审查等几个阶段的充分准备后,大部分学生答辩时逻辑清晰,解释深刻,充分展现了自己对专业知识的掌握深度和独立分析、解决问题的能力,得到了答辩小组的肯定。现场观摩的学生也纷纷向学长学姐们投去崇拜的目光并开始思考自己未来论文的方向。但部分导师也提出有些论文存在参考文献过时、论据不足等问题。
答辩过程结束后,记者对部分毕业生进行了随机采访。有些学生表示很满意此次答辩的表现,称没有辜负自己数月来的努力,但也有学生表示由于过分紧张而没有发挥好。另外,毕业生也为学弟、学妹们在论文写作和答辩方面提出了几点建议:一要及早确定论题,充分准备;二要多主动与导师交流,多次修改后才能定稿;三要充分熟悉论文,了解答辩技巧,保持沉重冷静。
此次毕业论文答辩审查了毕业生对课题的掌握程度,也锻炼了学生综合运用所学专业知识和技能的能力。同时,也为低年级的学生提供了一个增长知识,交流信息的机会。
SFL Holds Thesis Defense of 2014

On April 26th, the thesis defense for the graduates of 2014 from the School of Foreign Languages was held in Liyun Building. Graduates were divided into 13 groups to have their thesis defense in different classrooms.
The defense involved three parts. Firstly, students made a presentation for 3 to 5 minutes. Secondly, the tutors asked detailed questions regarding the purposes, significance and arguments of the theses. Thirdly, the tutors evaluated and graded students’ performance. Most students were well prepared and gave a great presentation, which impressed the tutors and inspired the audience from lower grades. However, some tutors also pointed out some problems like insufficient grounds and outdated references.
Several graduates were randomly interviewed after finishing the defense. Some were satisfied with their own performance, while others said they had been too nervous to do themselves justice. And the interviewees gave some tips to the students of lower grades, including spending long time preparing the thesis, communicating actively with tutors and being fully familiar with the thesis before the defense.
The thesis defense examined the graduates’ mastery of what they had learned at college and their ability to apply their knowledge into practice.
