4月10日晚上七点，外院本学期第三场外教讲座在丽泽楼C108成功举办。本次讲座主讲人是我院外籍教师Mr. Michael Hughes，主题是“西方国家的大学生活”。来自外国语学院的九十多名学生和其他学院的二十多名学生参加了此次讲座。 首先，Mr. Michael Hughes让同学们认识了美国一些城市和当地名校，并简要分析小城镇教育的重要性，详细对比了西方的大学与中国的大学在各个方面的差异，包括学生人数、专业选择与转换、课程学分、普通教育课程和选修课的设置等方面。然后，Mr. Michael Hughes介绍了许多西方的大学的活动组织，俱乐部和联谊会。最后，他还谈及了美国独特的驾驶文化、学校运动团队以及学生支持中心等。

同学们对西方国家的大学生活展现出浓厚的兴趣，此次讲座让他们对中西方国家大学生活的差异有了更深的认识。

A Lecture: University Life in the Western World

At 7 p.m. on April 10th , Mr. Michael Hughes, the overseas teacher of the School of Foreign Languages, held a lecture entitledUniversity Life in the Western Worldin Lize C108. More than 110 students of different schools attended the lecture.

Mr. Michael Hughes started his lecture with presenting information about some cities in U.S.A and local famous universities. He briefly analyzed the importance of small town education and compared the differences between Western and Chinese universities. Secondly, Mr. Michael Hughes introduced some student organizations in Western universities, including clubs, fraternities and sororities. At last, he covered the driving culture, the school sports teams and student support centers in U.S.A.

The lecture greatly impressed the students who were interested in the university life in the western world.
