新学期开始，我院在迎接新生到来的同时，也迎来了17名新聘外籍教师，其中5名具有博士学位, 2名具有教授职称。这17名外籍教师分别来自英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰、日本、葡萄牙等8个国家，大部分外籍教师毕业于英语及相关专业，其中有的毕业于哈佛大学等国际名校。当外籍教师们刚踏进这所美丽的校园的时候，都一致称赞校园环境的优美和舒适。学院领导高度重视这次的接待工作，陶文好院长强调要认真细致地安排好接待的每一个细节。新外籍教师们在我院外事秘书的帮助下，办理好入住手续，先后搬入了学校新建的青年教师公寓。在一切都安顿好之后，学校国际事务办公室的工作人员及我院外事秘书带领各位新外籍教师参观了校园。

新外籍教师的加入，使得我们学院的师资队伍更加壮大。截至2011-2012学年第一学期，外国语学院共有外籍教师30名，占全院教师的41.7%。

At the start of the new semester, seventeen new overseas teachers arrived at our university one after another during the new students’ enrolling days. Among them, five hold Doctor’s degrees and two are professors. They are from eight different countries: U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Portugal, ect. Most of them got their degrees in English or related majors, and some of them graduated from internationally prestigious universities, such as Harvard University. When the new overseas teachers stepped into our campus, they were deeply impressed by the beautiful scenery. Professor Tao Wenhao, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, attached great importance to the receiving arrangement of the overseas teachers and emphasized that great efforts needed to be made to help them feel at home. After finishing the residential procedures, they moved into the brand new Qingjiao Apartment Building with the help of the secretary of foreign affairs. After settling down, they had a campus tour, which was guided by the staff members from the International Office and the School of Foreign Languages.

With these new overseas teachers, the teaching staff of the School of Foreign Languages has been refreshed and enhanced. In the first semester of 2011-2012 academic year, the total number of overseas teachers will reach 30, accounting for 41.7% of the whole teaching staff of the School of Foreign Languages.
