北京师范大学珠海分校外国语学院名誉院长，中国著名语言学家、语言哲学家，西方语言哲学与语用学两个方向的博士生导师。现任中国英汉语比较研究会副会长、全国语言文字标准化技术委员会外语分委委员、中西语言哲学研究会会长。《现代外语》、《外语学刊》、《中国外语》、《外语教学》的编委会成员或者顾问。主要著作包括：《美学语言学》、《汉语文化语用学》、《语言全息论》、《语言：人类最后的家园——人类基本生存状态的哲学与语用学研究》、《摘取我够得着的葡萄》等等。

Professor Qian Guanlian, the honorary dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of BNUZ, is a renowned linguist and linguistic philosopher in China and a doctoral supervisor of both Western Philosophy and Pragmatics. He is the deputy director of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, a member of the Subcommittee for Foreign Languages of the National Language and Script Standardization Technical Committee and the director of China Association for the Philosophy of Language. He is also a member of the Editorial Boards of or an adviser for a number of journals, including Modern Foreign Languages, Foreign Language Research, Foreign Languages in China, and Foreign Language Teaching. His major works include Aesthetic Linguistics, Pragmatics in Chinese Culture, the Theory of Language Holography, Language: the Last Homestead of Human Beings, Reaching for My Reachable Grapes and so on.
