讲师，硕士，毕业于广东外语外贸大学。研究方向：商务英语，跨文化比较。所授课程为大学英语、英语专业精读、公务商务英文写作、商务英语等。发表论文若干篇，参编大学英语教辅类书籍。

My name is Liao Shuxia. I graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies with an M.A. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. I have been teaching in the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai for about seven years. I teach many courses for English and non-English majors, including Intensive English Reading, Business English Writing, College English, International Trade Practices, etc. I am a BEC (Business English Certificate) examiner. My research interests are English for Specific Purposes, Second Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, Chinese and Western culture.

I love everything in our university, the mountain, the lake, the grassland, the tree and the flower… This is a paradise. My colleagues’ commitment to work and love for life, my students’ desire for knowledge and perseverance in the pursuit of their dreams, all these impress me a lot. The days I spend with them will be a good memory in my life. It is a happy thing to be getting old with my beloved ones.

When I was young, I had never thought of working as a teacher. I loved literature and history and dreamed of becoming a writer or something. But when I studied at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, I had an experience of teaching. This made me know I could be helpful. Being helpful brought me great happiness. I think that is why I finally quit my job in a bank and came to our university. I try to be a good teacher. I know to be a good teacher means a lot. I give some, but I get more.

I like reading novels and history books. I used to write novels and poems. I like Chinese and Western paintings, though I am not good at painting. I enjoy travelling. I hope I have time to travel with my son. I hate cooking, but I like to cook for my son.
