The fourth English Interpreting Contest was held on Mar 29 by School of Foreign Languages. Yu Dian, Li Wenjia and Huang Lu, who were all Junior students from the English Department, won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Seven contestants joined in the contest. In the first section, Contestants were shown a video clip of Mitt Romney’s concession speech after losing 2012 Election to Obama. They have to interpret the speech consecutively. In the second section, they were asked to interpret President Xi Jinping’s explanation of “Chinese Dream”.

In the end, Li Fusheng, Associate Professor, on behalf of the judges, made comments on the performance of the contestants. (By Zhang Wenhui)
