At 7 p.m. on March 15th, Mr. Leck Wall, one of the overseas teachers from School of Foreign Languages, gave a lecture entitled ‘Cowboy Culture’ in Lize Building Room C107.
First of all, Mr. Leck Wall introduced his cowboy background and pointed out the role cowboys played. Then, he listed some aspects of cowboy culture which varied from his childhood to now, including the transportation, tasks and tools. He said that these aspects had changed a lot, so did the cowboy culture. For example, because of the application of technology, the production process became simplified and accelerated; what''s more, people can easily monitor the farm condition with high-tech products. Finally, he illustrated that China, as an important market of cowboy products, also influenced the cowboy culture.
During the lecture, Mr. Leck Wall simulated some real-life situations of cowboys. His performance was so excellent that students could understand easily. At last, a student asked his preference about cowboy style, he said that both traditional and modern cowboy culture had their own features but he preferred the latter.
