The campus competition of the 16th “FLTRP Amazon Cup” National English Debating was held in LeyuC109 on April 22. The competition was organized by the School of Foreign Languages.

The judges of the competition were Mr. Xie Qingli, Ms. Xie Wenting, Ms. Zhang Minli, Ms. Wu Wenxia, and Mr. Ding Hao.

Nine teams--- two students in each--- from different faculties of BNUZ took part in this competition. There were two rounds. The first round was a speaking contest and the second was a debating contest.

In the first round, each participant gave a speech on the topic of "Should university students go into business". Most of them expressed their viewpoints quite well and made a good performance when they were answering the judges’ questions. Four teams finally stood out and entered the next round.

In the second round, participants debated on the topic of plastic surgery in the form of a western debate. Their fluent English and outstanding performance won a big round of applause.

Finally, Xue Hanting from the School of Foreign Languages and Wang Hui from the School of Law and Government won the First Prize.
