At 7 p.m. on November 25th, the eighth movie night was held by Mr. Tim Musgrave and Mr. Stephen Glenn Keen, foreign teachers from the School of Foreign Languages in Room C109 of Lize Building. The movie showed was "The Italian Job".
In this movie, Michael Caine takes the leading role of Charlie Croker, a mobster just released from prison. He makes a plan named "the Italian Job", when it is announced that China is delivering a consignment of gold to Turin. In order to finish the plan, to get the gold, Croker assembles a well-equipped gang including computer expert, electronics handle and several getaway drivers. They create a paralyzing traffic jam that will prevent the police from recapturing the gold. Then, the gang escapes by driving through large sewer pipes, throwing off the police. However, on their way to evacuate the gold, the bus is left teetering over a cliff, which is the end of the movie——the camera zooms out, still showing the bus on the edge of the cliff. The movie ends with such a literal cliffhanger. Croker''s last line is "Hang on a minute, lads, I''ve got a great idea! Err...", but we never know whether it is true.
Most of the scenes in the movie are very thrilling, such as the high-speed car chase and the driving through large sewer pipes, while there are still something interesting, such as some lines and some actions. Students said that it gave them a colorful emotional journey.
