BNUZ Movies Nights: The Social Network

At 7:00 P.M. on April 28th, Mr. Musgrave,an overseas teacher from the Faculty of Foreign Languages,showed a movie named ‘The Social Network’ to students in Liyun Building Room A208. BNUZ Movies Nights are a series of distinctive activities held by Mr. Tim Musgrave, aiming at helping students to strengthen their understanding of the culture of English speaking countries.
"The Social Network", directed by Divad Fincher, is a story about friendship, success and loyalty. The leading character Mark Zuckerberg is a great man in Harvard who has great talent in computer. After breaking up with his girl friend Eirce, smart Harvard guy Mark hacked into the network service system of Harvard, searching and collecting every Harvard’s girls’ picture and their other materials. Moreover, Mark also created a website called “facemash”and spread his own website to his friends and let them judge whether the girl is beautifully or not. This made so many students enter his website that almost paralyzed the whole network service system of Harvard. Mark got punished from his school. However, Mark’s excellent performance attacked Wiklevoss brothers, they invited him to join their team. With his friend Eduardo’s help, Mark created Facebook, which has a great development later, but at same time, Mark got a lot of problems. The twin brother Wiklevess sued Mark for the ownership of facebook. The friendship between Eduard and him became hard. But finally, Mark had settled the problems.
After the movie, Mr. Musgrave exchanged ideas with students. Through this activity, students strengthened their understanding of the culture of English speaking countries. They said they looked forward to the next Movie Night.
