As part of the American movie culture learning, a lecture entitled ‘Behind Camera----American Women Film Maker’ was successfully held by the overseas teacher Dr. Ann Henry from the Faculty of Foreign Languages in LiYun Building Room A207, on April 27.
The lecture started with the introduction of the status of the women film makers in the early 20 centuries. They were not paid high attention to at the very beginning, and they were not able to write on their own terms. Although they were not treated as equally as men, they never thought of giving up their careers. By giving the example of the women film makers’ working experience and successful works during the period of 1920-1990, Dr. Ann Henry made the audience have a clear understanding of the achievements made by women film makers. The vivid examples made the lecture so attractive and interesting.
The lecture ended with a burst of applause. Students are looking forward to more lectures like this, which adds interest to the study.
