On 18th May, Dr. Harvey Millar, from the Saint Mary’s University, and Mr. Robert Mateja attended the English Corner.
Firstly, Mr. Robert talked about the plan to go to Australia with students. When a student talked about the weather in Australia, Mr. Robert said the temperature was so great. Meanwhile, he also asked if the students had any travel plan to go to Australia. Then he told the students his studying experience in Korea. Some students wondered if he could speak Korean. Mr. Robert explained the people around him all spoke English, so he did not need to speak Korean.
At the same time, Harvey introduced himself to students. He was a mathematics teacher from Canada. He came to teach financial courses and wanted to pick out some good students to study in Saint Mary’s University. Harvey asked students what they would think of when talking about Canada, and some students said the maple leaf while others said the cold weather. Finally, he referred some interesting experiences in Canada.
In English Corner, students got more information about studying in other countries and learned more details about Australia and Canada.
