On the evening of Sept 27th,Mr.David Koenig held a lecture on“How to Build a Learning-oriented Society” in Room C204 of Leyu Building.
Firstly,Koenig guided the students to think about the influential factors of building a learning-oriented society.He let the studentsrecall their childhood, and when looking back at contemporary society, it was obvious that pollution was seriously affecting people’s daily life, such as air and noise pollution. As a result, it’s easy to reach a conclusion that a good social environment was important to the establishment of a learning-oriented society.
Next,Koenig commented that China should improve its national strength and spread the idea of keeping on learning to the masses so as to deal with the difficulties encountered halfway, such as poverty and people’s low awareness.Koenig also advised people to think systematically, which would be of great helpto find a better way to solve the problem.
Finally, Koenigstressed the importance of discipline,which containedthe following five concepts: Three legged chair theory, video sharing, thinking model, team learning and systematical thinking.
Koenig’s speech made the students have a better understandingofthe topic, which also inspired the students tothink and exploremorein their future studies.
