On the evening of April 20th , Mr. Robert K Mateja,Dr. Troy Maurice Smith,Mr. Byron Sherman and many students joined the English Corner in the cool spring breeze.
Byron, a teacher from South Africa, who could speak Chinese fluently, shared his reasons of becoming a vegetarian. He said that the main reason why he chose to become a vegetarian was that he loved animals very much. He believed that “if you eat rubbish, you will look like rubbish.” Byron also mentioned his becoming a vegetarian accounted for the fact that he was staying in good shape.
Troy didn’t choose to be a lawyer even though his major was English and American Law. He didn’t want to waste his life in arguing with other people. And he decided to be a teacher who would have a wider influence on more people. Robert told us that were he a super hero, he would like to be Iron Man rather than Superman. In his opinion, a real hero should use his own power to be a hero, just like Iron Man.
An hour passed quickly, and almost all students who shared their choices in life were looking forward to the next English Corner.
