On 30th September, the English corner was held in the library as usual. There were many students joining this activity even on the evening before the holiday. Mr. Darren Mullins attended it.
Firstly, Darren talked about the representative things of Ohio with students. "Maybe everyone has different impressions on Ohio. And nowadays Ohio is known for its food culture and famous people. For instance, Edison was born in a small town of Ohio. "Darren said. What''''s more, he told a story about ice cream and students were very interested in it.
A student asked a question about ownership of guns. Darren explained actually a few people had guns in America. Darren encouraged the students to go abroad for studying, especially to America. "You will have many chances to open up your eyes. At the same time, you can get more knowledge. Americans welcome people who study and work in America." He added.
Students had a deeper understanding about America from the talk with Darren. We expected to learn more about other cultures next time.
