To lay more impression on the students about different countries in the world and put them into the atmosphere with unique cultural features in countries like U.S., France, Japan and Portugal, Youth League committee in the School of Foreign Languages held the 7th International Culture Court at Huitong street in BNUZ on May 26th, 2017. The event welcomed the Youth League members in the year of 2017 but also students from other schools of BNUZ. It was aimed to reveal the multi-cultural and academic atmosphere for the new classes.
The event offered a platform for students to appreciate the multi-cultures in different countries and meet their own developmental requirements. For example, each class was asked to choose and design their food&culture booth based on the unique cultural features. What’s more, there would also be exquisite booths built by Youth League Committee in SFL. Its features include Maid, Egg Tart, sandwich in Portugal, Harry Porter in English, nobility, chocolate fountain, Mango Mousse in France, sushi, broad, The Ring in Japan and Tiramisu, waffles in Italy…
The two final prizes for the winners: the most popular booth and the most creative booth eventually went to the Japan Ghost House and Portuguese Customs. By its huge decoration in the ghost house and cohesion of the classmates, the first booth attracted a number of students and motivated the ambience successfully. Meanwhile, the second booth showed the unique and passionate Portuguese culture to the crowd perfectly by its high participation and cohesion in the class.
The booths with special cultural features are an organic part of the event. It strengthened the connection of classes and improved the communication between them. More importantly, both staff and students got an chance to experience the cultures in different countries and expanded their horizons through the after-class activities.
