Students Won Third Prize of South China Area in Final of 20th FLTRP Cup National English Debating Contest
From April 7 to 10, 2017, the final of the South China Area in the 20th FLTRP Cup National English Debating Contest was held in Wuhan. Pan Jingyi from the School of Foreign Languages, and Su Xiaonan from the School of Law represented our university in the debating competition. They performed excellent and won the third prize of the South China Area.
National Debating Contest is organized by the college department in the Central Committee of the Young Communist League, the National Federation of Students Secretariat and Beijing Foreign Studies University. It adopts the British Parliamentary System and requires the contestants not only to have profound knowledge, but also to have abilities of public speeking, logical thinking and rapid response. The authority, scale and brand influence of this competition has been recognized by the majority of English teachers and college students in China.
Held once a year, FLTRP Cup National English Debating Contest is the highest level of the English debating competition in China. In order to achieve outstanding results in the competition, the leaders of School of Foreign Languages attached great importance and gave huge support to the competition publicity, the selection of contestants, and the arrangement of professional teacher guidance. In the meantime, excellent performances of the contestants also showed the high teaching quality of our School.
