3月28日下午，我院党总支书记、院长陶文好教授在乐育楼C210为同学们上了一堂主题为《新时代英语专业教育结构重构——践行十九大文化自信》的思政课，和同学们分享了新时代英语专业同学的学习方向，激励英语专业同学的历史责任。

陶院长以诙谐幽默的语言分析了英语专业教育现状，从课程体系建设和人才培养两个方面论述了重构英语专业教育模式的必要性。他认为，新时代的英语专业课程体系建设在保留现有的英语专业国标课程体系前提下，应融入更多中华元素类课程，通过用英语开设中华文明、中华文化、中国文学、中国历史和中国哲学类课程，使英语专业学生学好英语和汉语，能够用英语讲好中国故事。英语专业人才培养应注重全人教育，培养全面发展、具有民族自信、通晓英汉语言文化知识和国际视野的英语人才。

讲座中，陶院长利用历史人物、数据进行了分析，大家意识到，重构英语专业教育模式是促进英语专业教育可持续发展的保障。同时，在座的同学也体会到英语学习者肩上的重担、激发了他们传统文化传承的信心。

On September 28, March, Professor Tao Wenhao, the Dean and the Secretary of General Party Branch of SFL, gave students a lecture named Reconceptualizing Cultivation Pattern of English Majors under the Background of New Era: Fulfilling the Cultural Confidence of the 19th National Congress of CPC in Leyu B210 . He orientated the English-language learning and commanded the historical responsibility students should take.

Dean Tao stressed the necessity of reconceptualizing English Cultivation Mode of English majors from perspective of curricula and talent cultivation in humorous way. He stated that the curricula for English majors should be developed deeper, based on the current course arrangement, and combine Chinese elements, such as Chinese civilization, Chinese culture, Chinese literature, Chinese history and Chinese philosophy. By doing so, students could be bilingually competent and could tell Chinese stories in fluent English. Students in English majors should be cultivated in a whole-person way in terms of all-round development, ethnic confidence, bilingualism and international outlook.

Dean Tao borrowed some historical figures and data to illustrate during the lecture. Students attended realized that to reconceptualize the mode is a sustainable development for English majors. It is sensed in an unprompted way by the participants the responsibility they should take and confidence in transiting traditional culture.
