2012年7月11日下午3点，中山大学翻译学院院长、博士生导师黄国文教授应邀，莅临我校外国语学院讲学，为外国语学院的学生作题为《语言与翻译的关系》的讲座。 讲座中，黄国文教授首先详细讲解了语言的基础知识和翻译的细节，如语义、词形的选用等。他以幽默诙谐的语言和有趣的图片说明了不同语境下语义的巨大差异，他一再强调：“一定要在适合的场合用适合的语言。”紧接着，他用大量的中外实例证明在翻译时一定要注意文化背景，并提出学习语言一定要学以致用的观点。最后，黄教授主要介绍了语内翻译和语际翻译两种翻译形式，认为翻译既是高深的艺术也是力求精准的科学，但无论如何，在翻译时一定要将其本意传达透彻。

本次讲座黄国文教授深入浅出，高屋建瓴地将理论和实际结合，向大家分析了语言和翻译的关系，令到场的师生受益匪浅。

4th Academic Lecture: The Relationship between Language and Translation

At 3 P.M, on July 11, Prof. Huang Guowen, the dean of the School of International Studies of SUN YAT-SEN UNIVERSITY, was invited by the SFL to give a lecture entitled “the Relationship between Language and Translation”.

At the beginning, Prof. Huang introduced some basic knowledge about language and details in translation, such as the choice of morphology and semantics. He told us the great difference of meaning in variant environments, and his interesting lecturing style impressed the audience a lot. During the lecture, Prof. Huang laid emphasis on the concept of “learning as communication”.

Then, he gave examples to illustrate the fact that cultural context is importantly significant in translation. Finally, he analyzed the difference between intra-lingual translation and inter-lingual translation. Prof. Huang said, “No matter whether transition is an art or a science, we must remember that translation is translating meaning!”
