On October 21st , many students joined the English corner. Dr. Thomas James Hughes, Mr. Christopher Dockstader, Mr. Darren Mullins and Mr. Dennis Baker came to talk with students.
Darren told the students about his wonderful experience of visiting some cities in China. He not only talked about his good impression of Beijing, but also revealed his interest in Chinese history.
Dennis chose a serious topic to communicate with the students. He talked about the political and military problems between China and the United Stated. Then he told us his own view about it. During the conversation, a student asked Dennis about how to improve English. Dennis gave some advice: firstly, ask some people to get together and prepare for some topics; secondly, look up the dictionary and join the conversation in the English corner.
English corner on Wednesday attracted a lot of students to join in. Gradually, students didn’t feel ashamed and worried about speaking English, but became more and more confident.
